Sidewalk at Rite Aid & Subway in Galax, VA | FREE
Join us for an international event celebrating the Third Anniversary of the Women’s March. Millions of women and allies are coming together again to resist government policies that hurt women, minorities, and our precious planet. This anniversary event will kick-off a new Women’s March Agenda to engage local communities and promote transformational change. If you live in or near Grayson County, Galax, or Carroll County, Virginia, march with us! And if you want to help plan our Local Sister March, please contact Katie@TheOracleInstitute.org.

2019 Guest Chef Program!
Cook food? We need you! Be a guest chef starting in January. Stephanie, Abby and the rest of us love cooking, but we’re hoping to share the responsibility of cooking for the Soup Kitchen on the first Tuesday of each month. With a few guest chefs we will be able to better serve the community and keep our enthusiasm! Will you be our local hero and cook a huge meal once or twice next year? You don’t even have to help serve it. Click here to sign up as a guest chef in 2019! Special thank you and shout out to Ben Roberts for volunteering to cook on March 5.

Upcoming Local Events

2019 Martin Luther King Celebration
Monday, January 21st, the holiday, from 1 pm — 2:30 pm at the Floyd County High School auditorium and cafeteria. As it is the holiday school kids are definitely invited.

We ask all who attend to make acquaintance with someone you don’t know during the hospitality time. If you would like to provide finger food, time, or a service for this event, please call Edna Whittier at 540-745-3674. Leave your name, phone number (please say the number twice and slowly) and a short message.
